Local product Jennifer Moore, who was one of the top power hitters in the history of nearby Ashland University’s softball program, has been named The College of Wooster’s new softball assistant coach.
Moore, who had a breakthrough season as a junior, earned several postseason honors, including second-team all-region and first-team all-conference certificates. Moore’s stellar play continued as a senior, a year in which she was elevated to first-team all-region and earned a third all-conference honor.
Moore’s 155 RBI and 29 home runs rank second all-time at Ashland, and her 44 doubles are the fifth-most.
Prior to attending Ashland, Moore earned honorable mention All-Ohio and first-team All-Wayne County Athletic League certificates at Hillsdale High School.
Moore graduated with a bachelor’s in sport management, and has extensive experience as a softball instructor.
