Title: Volunteer Asst. Coach

Mike Gallagher enters his second year as a volunteer assistant coach with The College of Wooster’s women’s basketball program. Gallagher's responsibilities include post player development and team defense. 

Prior to Wooster, Gallagher served as head girls basketball coach at Wooster High School from 1986-2005, where he compiled a 356-93 overall record. During his tenure, Gallagher helped lead Wooster to 11 conference championships, nine district titles, two regional championships and two state runner-up finishes. In 1991, Gallagher was named the Girls Basketball Div. I Coach of the Year by the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association (OHSBCA).

In addition, Gallager was honored as Defiance College's Alumni Coach of the Year in 1993 and was honored with the Clem Caraboolad Award in 1996 for his commitment to players on and off the court. Gallagher was inducted into the Wooster High School Hall of Fame in 2011 and the OHSBCA Hall of Fame in 2013.

Gallagher graduated from Lorain St. Mary High School in 1966 and Defiance College in 1972, and is married to Marjorie (Taylor), his wife of 38 years.
