Nicole Marshall enters her third year as an assistant coach with The College of Wooster’s women’s basketball program. Marshall’s responsibilities include recruiting, practice and teaching the game, film management, and opponent scouting.
Prior to Wooster, Marshall gained coaching experience as a graduate assistant at Michigan State University. In her first year, Marshall helped lead the Spartans to a share of the Big Ten regular-season championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Marshall’s duties included assisting the coaching staff in daily basketball operations and updating scouting reports.
“Nicole brings a wide range of experiences to Wooster, from her playing days at Lake Superior to her coaching experiences in a variety of settings,” said Panepento. “She most recently worked with Suzy Merchant at Michigan State University, a program known for its excellence in women’s college basketball. Nicole will bring a fresh set of eyes to our program with the work ethic necessary to help create a winning culture.”
As a collegiate athlete, Marshall played at Lake Superior State University, a NCAA Div. II institution in Michigan. She totaled a school-record 55 3-pointers as a junior, and averaged double-digit points over her final two seasons.
Marshall completed her bachelor’s degree in communication from Lake Superior in 2011, and earned her master’s degree in kinesiology from Michigan State in 2015.
