Local product Paige Summers, a recent graduate of Ashland University, has been named The College of Wooster’s new softball assistant coach.
During her career, Summers earned second-team National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region honors as a junior and was a three-time pick to the All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Team. At Ashland, Summers hit 17 career homers and twice led the team in RBI.
In high school, Summers was a two-time All-Ohio selection at nearby Dalton High School, where she hit at least .435 every year. The four-time first-team All-Wayne County Athletic League honoree also earned a pair of all-district certificates.
Summers earned a bachelor’s in sport management at Ashland.
