The College of Wooster women's golf team posted a two-day score of 693 (339-354) to claim a third-place team finish at the par-72, 5809-yard Legends Golf Club on Sunday afternoon at Franklin, Ind.
First-year Lilly Dunning led the way with a two-round 172 (83-89) to finished tied for seventh, followed by sophomore Kaci Carpenter's 173 (87-86), which made a claim for ninth-place overall. Additionally, first-year Tongtong Wu moved up five spots from Saturday to finish at 173 (86-87) while first-year Megan Gronau ended one spot behind at 174 (86-88).
Sophomore Hannah Appleman rounded out the Fighting Scots' top-20 finishers with a 19th-place score of 177 (85-92). Senior Victoria Roney shot an opening round 82 before finishing with a 98 for a 26th-place score of 180, and first-year Devon Matson turned in rounds of 88 and 98 to finished tied for 33rd overall at 186. Sophomore Emily Stoehr rounded out Wooster's scores with a two-day score of 224 for 55th overall.
Up next, Wooster opens the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships on Friday, April 27 at Westbrook Country Club in Mansfield, Ohio.
