Siewert Breaks Two More Records in Indiana

KOKOMO, Ind. - Senior Ally Siewert's record-setting year continued this week, as she now has the most top-10 finishes at traditional tournaments and most rounds played in program history. This weekend's third-place finisher helped The College of Wooster women's golf team to third as a team at the nine-team Indiana University Kokomo Spring Shootout, held at the par-72, 5,893-yard Wildcat Creek Golf Course. Wooster shot a 331 in round one and followed that up with a 338.

Siewert, who shot a 159 for the tournament, opened with a birdie on the par-4, 348-yard first hole on Saturday and played the front nine at even-par. Siewert strung together six straight pars come hole four and went on to play 12 holes at par or better on Saturday. She went 1-over on par-5 holes for the opening round. On Sunday, Wooster's No. 1 opened with pars on four of her first six holes.

The third-place finish marked Siewert's 28th for her career. She already has the program's top-five mark at 23 and is tied for most medalist honors with four. Saturday's round marked her 73rd, moving her past alumnae Hannah Buzolits, Sharmeen Chinoy, and Emily Howerton.

Sophomore Morgan Erdmann was next, signing for a 164, which ranked eighth. Erdmann carded two 82s on the weekend. Her Saturday card had 10 pars on it, including three of the par-5 holes. Erdmann strung together five pars in a six-hole stretch come the course's 13th hole. On Sunday, birdies dropped for Erdmann on the par-3, 158-yard third hole and the par-4, 357-yard sixth hole. Erdmann opened Sunday with four straight pars in the shotgun-started round and had 10 more holes at par or better.

Classmate Abigail Haywood posted Wooster's No. 3 score on the weekend at 169. Haywood was 14th after going 82-87 for the tournament. Haywood dropped in a birdie on the par-3, 139-yard seventh hole on Saturday and played eight of the holes at par or better, including a run of four straight pars spanning holes 15 through 18.
