Siewert Now the Winningest Scot in Program History

RICHMOND, Ind. – Ally Siewert is now the winningest Fighting Scot in College of Wooster women's golf history, as the senior standout captured her fifth medalist honor in dominant fashion at the Forest Hills Intercollegiate on Friday. Wooster placed fifth in the field at the 36-hole single-day tournament with a score of 716.

Siewert entered Friday's second round two strokes back of the lead, then turned it on with a second-round 77 to win by five strokes. The medalist honor is Siewert's fifth, breaking a tie with alumna Tongtong Wu for most in program history. Additionally, Siewert is the first Scot to win medalist honors three times in a season, breaking a four-way tie with alumnae Melissa Burtscher, Megan Gronau, and Wu. Siewert's 77 tied her low round of the spring, and it was one of just two rounds in the 70s turned in by the entire field on Friday.

Sophomore Morgan Erdmann carded a 10-stroke improvement from round one to two to finish at 182. Erdmann was Wooster's second-place finisher and ranked 21st in the field.

Sophomore Paige Nicely opened with a 92 and closed with a 97 for a 189 and a 27th-place finish. Sophomore Lizzy Hohman went 108-99-207 for a 35th-place finish. Sophomore Abigail Haywood did not finish round two, however, the 87 in round one was Wooster's second-best score of the opening 18.

Wooster had a 357 in round one as a team and 359 in round two.

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College won the six-team tournament with a 678.

Additional highlights from Wooster's lineup were not available at article posting time due to host Indiana University East not having the rounds submitted on Clippd or a golf live-scoring platform.

Next, Wooster competes at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, which start Friday May 2 at Otter Creek Golf Club in Columbus, Indiana.
