Siewert Third, Finishes Career with Program's Scoring Record

COLUMBUS, Ind. – Senior Ally Siewert capped her historic College of Wooster women's golf career with a third-place finish at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship, where the Fighting Scots placed fourth as a team. Wooster finished at 1,022 following a day-three 351 at the par-72, 5,870-yard Otter Creek Golf Course.

Siewert graduates as the program's all-time leader in scoring average (82.3), medalist honors (5), top-five finishes (25), top-10 finishes (30), and rounds played (79). She is just the second Scot to post a sub-80 average for a season. Siewert finished at 79.3 following her final-round 76, which trails the 79.1 alumna Melissa Burtscher turned in last season. Siewert's third-place individual finish is the second-highest in program history, and earned her a spot on the all-tournament team.

Siewert started her final collegiate round 2-under-par through five holes en route to her co-single-season program-leading ninth top-five finish. Siewert dropped in birdies on the par-3, 143-yard 13th hole and the par-5, 412-yard 14th hole. She played 12 holes at par or better, including a run four straight holes, spanning Nos. 2-5. The 76 marked her 11th round of the year in the 70s and her low round for the spring. Her 10 top-10 finishes as a senior are one shy of Burtscher's single-season record.

Sophomore Morgan Erdmann placed 13th at the NCAC Championship for the second time. She finished with a 250 after an 85 on Sunday. Erdmann joined Siewert with a birdie on No. 13 and had a stretch of four pars over a five-hole span upon turning to the front nine. Erdmann played Sunday's par-5 holes at 1-over-par, the same score she had on the par-3 holes.

Sophomore Abigail Haywood was Wooster's final championship placer at 15th. Haywood had a 258 for the 54-hole championship, which included a final-round 89. Haywood's Sunday birdie came on the par-4, 360-yard 16th hole. Haywood scored a par on both of the front-nine par-3 holes and capped the sophomore season with consecutive pars.

Senior Maddie Moran was Wooster's fourth score in Sunday's team total. The senior capped her career with a 101. Her round was headlined by a par on the par-5, 485-yard fifth hole and the par-4, 321-yard sixth hole.

Of note, Wooster's 341.7 team average is the fifth-best mark in program history and the third straight year the team has posted a top-five average.

Denison University beat DePauw University 929-938 for the NCAC title. Wittenberg University took third at 1,006 strokes. DePauw's Becky Williams cruised to a second straight individual NCAC title with a 219. She was the medalist by 12 strokes over Denison's Lizzy Grant.
