Men's Team USTFCCCA Release | Women's Team USTFCCCA Release | Women's All-Academic Athlete USTFCCCA Release
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association has announced its track and field academic awards. The College of Wooster's men's and women's track and field program earned the team honor, while individually, junior Evie Sanford collected USTFCCCA All-Academic laurels.
Teams must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.1. Individuals must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3, be ranked in the top-50 in an individual event on TFRRS, or compete at the national championship for the indoor or outdoor season.
Sanford is a first-time USTFCCCA All-Academic qualifier. The standout thrower was named College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District® for the second time this summer. Sanford is a two-time member of the North Coast Athletic Conference Dr. Gordon Collins Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll and has qualified for Wooster's Athletic Director's Honor Roll each time it has been awarded.
Wooster placed 19 men and 19 women on the NCAC Dr. Gordon Collins Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll earlier this summer. That award requires student-athletes to be at least a sophomore in academic standing and have a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA. Twenty-seven women and 25 men were among the record 295 Scots on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the spring semester. The Athletic Director's Honor Roll is awarded to all Scots who have at least a 3.5 GPA for the semester.
