Steve DeGraffenreid has been selected as manager of equipment operations and assistant coordinator of facilities and events at The College of Wooster. DeGraffenreid starts at Wooster on November 30.

"We are excited to welcome Steven to Wooster," shared Lynn Holleran, Wooster's director of athletics and physical education. "The manager of equipment operations and assistant coordinator of facilities and events is an important position within our department. Steven's experience in game management and facilities makes him a valuable addition to our department."

"I am excited to join Wooster and return to college athletics," said DeGraffenreid. "I look forward to working with the athletics staff, supporting our coaches and student-athletes, and becoming part of the Fighting Scots community. I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to contributing to the continued success of Wooster athletics."

DeGraffenreid is set to arrive in Wooster after five years as athletic director and coordinator of facilities and game management at Columbus Arts and Technology Academy, where he built the athletic program from the ground up. He administered the department's annual budget, oversaw coaches, and coordinated game operations, facilities, transportation, and officials for 15 teams across 10 sports. He also taught physical education and health at the school.

DeGraffenreid also held a variety of football coaching positions for over a decade. Most recently, he was defensive coordinator and defensive line coach at Westland High School near Columbus. In college, DeGraffenreid supported East Mississippi Community College's National Junior College Athletic Association championship football program as a defensive student assistant, equipment manager, and videographer.

DeGraffenreid earned an associate's degree in athletic training from East Mississippi, a bachelor's degree in sport management from Southern New Hampshire University, and a master's degree in sports administration from the University of Cincinnati. He is a registered athletic administrator with the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.
