The College of Wooster's
Mark Towns was named third-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference on Monday, following a season in which the senior led the Fighting Scots with a 77.0 scoring average.
This is Towns' first all-conference selection. Towns' season was headlined by finishing as the runner-up at the Nye Intercollegiate, where the senior shot a 151 for the 36-hole tournament. Towns opened with a 76 and closed with a 75. The senior helped the Fighting Scots win the Cleveland Cup with a 77, which ranked seventh in the 47-player field in late October.
This spring, Towns fired nine rounds in the 70s out of 10 rounds played. His low of 74 came at John Carroll University's Dan Caschera and John DiCillo Classic. Towns' first of three 74s came in the final round of the University of Mount Union Fall Invitational, where he shot a season-best 149. The senior opened with that same score at Allegheny College's Guy and Jeanne Kuhn Invitational.
