Adu-Baah on CSC Academic All-District® Team

Sophomore sprinter honored by CSC

Franklin Adu-Baah from The College of Wooster men's track and field program earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® honors for men's track and field, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

Adu-Baah qualified with a collegiate-best 10.86 in the 100-meter dash at Baldwin Wallace University's Harrison Dillard Twilight, which moved the sophomore into the top-50 in the Great Lakes Region for the event. At conference, he ran a leg on Wooster's scoring seventh-place 4x100 outdoor relay (42.58) and competed in the preliminary heats of the 100 (11.24). Earlier in the spring, Adu-Baah earned All-Ohio honors as part of the Scots' third-place 4x100 relay (42.08) at the All-Ohio Championships. During the indoor season, Adu-Baah scored as part of Wooster's seventh-place 4x200 relay (1:31.16) at conference and raced in the prelim heats on the 60-meter dash (7.08) and the 200 meters (23.49).

Adu-Baah is a computer science major and projected qualifier for the North Coast Athletic Conference Dr. Gordon Collins Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. He designed and implemented a self-play reinforcement learning agent for Connect 4 in Python, training the model entirely through games against itself. He also designed a built a multi-user backend system using Python and Model Context Protocol with persistent storage and isolated per-user data. Adu-Baah is a sophomore research assistant on campus in the field of combinatorial geometry research and is a student technology assistant for the digital media bar.

CSC Academic All-District® honors require a student-athlete to be at least a sophomore in academic standing, have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA, and have a top-50 regional ranking in an individual event on TFRRS for track and field or place in the top-50 in a regional cross country championship meet.
