  • Title
    Volunteer Asst. Coach

Dan Harwood, an All-American as a sophomore and junior at The College of Wooster, is back with his alma mater as a volunteer assistant coach.

Harwood, one of the top left-handed bats in program history, was part of three North Coast Athletic Conference championship teams, three NCAA squads, and Wooster’s 2018 team, which reached the NCAA Div. III Championships.

Harwood broke out as a sophomore, earning second-team All-America honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association and D3baseball.com. His 72 RBI were one behind the Div. III national leader, with the total ranking as the fifth-most in program history, and Wooster’s first 70-plus RBI season since 2009. As a sophomore, Harwood finished fifth nationally with 14 home runs, 12th with 59 runs, and 17th with 74 hits. He followed that up with first-team D3baseball.com and second-team ABCA All-America honors in 2019. That year, he led Wooster with a .424 average (70-for-165) and ranked ninth in Div. III with a .538 on-base percentage.

The 2020 first-team D3baseball.com Preseason All-American finished his career at Div. I Butler University in 2021. There, he led Butler with a .327 average (32-for-98) and was the team leader with 27 RBI. He later signed with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers of the MLB Draft League.

Harwood graduated with a degree in business economics from Wooster in 2020.
