Michael Lambeck is The College of Wooster men's soccer team's assistant coach. He arrived in Wooster in spring 2022.

Lambeck, a first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference goalkeeper as a senior at archrival Wittenberg University, spent three years as head coach at Div. III McMurry University. While there, he guided the team to a 6-10-1 record in his lone full season.

Prior to his first head coaching job, Lambeck was an assistant at University of the Ozarks, a fellow Div. III member. While serving as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, Lambeck helped the program to three consecutive conference tournament berths and 20 all-conference selections. Next, he spent three seasons at Wittenberg, assisting with the men’s soccer program.

As a collegiate athlete, Lambeck was a four-year starter at Wittenberg and was a two-time All-Ohio selection. He helped the program to a 2008 NCAA Div. III Championships berth and a program-record 16 victories. Lambeck’s 315 saves are the second-most in program history. He continued his career after graduation with Zanesville Athletic F.C., playing a year in the National Premier Soccer League.

Lambeck, who graduated with a degree in sociology from Wittenberg in 2012, furthered his education with a masters of sports administration degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 2019. He has extensive club coaching experience and was a member of Wittenberg’s student-athlete advisory committee as an undergraduate.
