Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

A Number of Firsts Achieved in 4-0 Win over Hiram

The College of Wooster men's soccer team shutout Hiram College 4-0 on Wednesday to collect their first North Coast Athletic Conference win of the year.

It was a game of first time goals for a trio of the Scots. Senior brothers Caleb and Keegan King each scored their first collegaite goals, as did junior Langston Hood.

But before the three got to their goals, it was sophomore Kyle Stringer scoring his second of the season in what would be the game winner in just the 16th minute.

Ten minutes later, Caleb King connected with a header off a corner kick feed from Moody Saadi. That took the Scots to a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Hood quickly got into the action after halftime as he scored in the 47th minute off an assist from Stringer. Keegan King scored his goal in front of the net in the 73rd minute from a free kick assist from first-year Miles Rochester.

The Scots held control throughout the contest, outshooting Hiram 27-6. They also took 10 corner kicks to Hiram's one.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jason Prather needed just one save to collect the shutout.

Hiram is now 2-8-2 overall and 0-4 in conference play. The Scots improve to 7-5-1 and 1-2-1 in the NCAC.

Wooster will take on Wittenberg University on Saturday.
