Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men Open NCAC Play with Tie Against Wabash

The College of Wooster men's soccer team battled Wabash College to a 1-1 tie on Saturday in both team's opener of North Coast Athletic Conference Play.

Both goals came from penalty kick opportunities. Wabash's Mitchell Keeling put the Little Giants ahead first in the 28th minute.

Wooster trailed until senior Max Hill scored his own penalty kick goal with just 3:15 remaining in regulation.

Wooster seemed to control the pace of the game, but Wabash capitalized on its few opportunities. The Scots outshot the Little Giants 18-7, and both teams had five corner kicks.

Sophomore Jason Prather made three saves in goal. His counterpart, Andrew Dever, collected six.

The overtimes were quiet in terms of offensive opportunities. Each team took one shot in the first overtime, and senior Jack Giloth had the lone shot of the second overtime with just a minute remaining.

Wabash moves to 7-2-1 overall, while the Scots move to 6-2-1. Wooster will host the University of Mount Union on Wednesday in its final non-conference game.
