The College of Wooster men's soccer team suffered its first North Coast Athletic Conference loss on Sunday, falling to Wittenberg University 4-0.
Wittenberg's Kees Ciric was a pain in Wooster's side on Sunday, scoring twice to lead the Tigers.
After Wittenberg (3-3-2, 1-0-1 NCAC), scored off a throw in just 3:12 into the game, Ciric made it a 2-0 game in the 22nd minute after winning a one-on-one.
Both first half goals looked as if they could have been avoided as Wooster found themselves trailing 2-0 at halftime.
Wittenberg, who tied Ohio Wesleyan University 1-1 in its NCAC opener, piled on in the second half with a strike from Josh Pawlicki in the 63rd minute and Ciric's second goal in the 72nd minute.
Wooster (7-5-1, 2-1 NCAC) was on its heels the entire game and outshot Wittenberg 17-11. Wittenberg keeper Peter Adams made eight saves, including a highlight of one late in the game fending off a one-on-one. Wooster's Andrew Beazley collected two saves.
Next, Wooster will travel to NCAC men's soccer powerhouse Kenyon College on Tuesday.
