The College of Wooster men's soccer team suffered its first defeat of the season in a 4-0 loss to 22nd-ranked Case Western Reserve on Sunday.

Wooster could not find the back of the net in its home opener as Case put forth a consistent scoring threat, which started in the sixth minute.

Case's Kysen Kroeger scored twice in the game, the game winner and closing goal in the 86th minute.

Case held a 1-0 lead for almost 30 minutes before the Spartans made it a 2-0 game in the 34th minute. Not satisfied to take that lead into halftime, Case secured one more goal with two seconds left in the half as Brandon Kim made it 3-0.

The Spartans ended up outshooting Wooster 16-9. Yet, Wooster had six corner kicks to Case's four.

Wooster goalkeeper Andrew Beazley was busy in net, ending the game with seven saves. Case keeper Bradley Winter made two saves in the win.

Both teams move to 1-1 with the result. The Scots travel to Westminster College on Thursday.
