BLUFFTON – The College of Wooster volleyball team traveled to Bluffton University on Saturday for a pair of non-conference matches.
The Scots fell to Berea College 3-1 (25-23, 22-25, 25-19, 25-23) and Bluffton 3-0 (25-10, 25-7, 25-21).
Senior
Izzy Cozzie led the Scots in both matches, tallying 15 kills versus Berea and six against Bluffton. First-year
Kennedy Muhlenkamp tallied a team-high in assists with 20 and 10, respectively. Junior
Natalie Hohman led the team with 14 digs against Berea and nine in the nightcap.
Also of note, sophomore
Catherine Muzilla posted seven of Wooster's 10 aces versus Berea, including four straight in the team's second set win.
That helped Wooster pull out of a 5-0 hole, scoring seven unanswered to take an early lead in that second set. Wooster kept a small lead throughout until a three-point swing gave Berea a 21-20 advantage.
However, Wooster battled back, scoring five of the next six points to take their only set of the day.
After today, Wooster moves to 5-15 overall. They return to North Coast Athletic Conference play with a trip to Ohio Wesleyan on Tuesday.
