The College of Wooster men's cross country team took third at the annual Dan Mullen Memorial Invitational, hosted by Muskingum University.
The Scots were third of six varsity teams that competed with a total of 109 points. The women also raced in the same event but did not compile a team score.
Two Scots cracked the top-10. First-year
Lauren Acker continued to lead the way for the women with a third-place finish in 24:23.9. Senior
Zane DeMercurio was the men's top harrier with a ninth-place finish in 28:39.4.
The remainder of the men ran a rather tightly-bunched race and were able to feed off each other's energy and performance. Senior

Basil Keck led that pack with 20th and 26th place, respectively, in times of 29:22.7 and 30:00.1. Sophomore

Charlie Cuttino were on each other's heels to 41st and 42nd place in 31:11.9 and 31:26.8.

Nick Schade placed in the top-50 for a strong all-around performance. Rombach placed 46th in 31:41.6 while Schade was 47th in 31:44.5.

Sylvia Direnzo and junior
Wyn Caudle rounded out the women's team at Muskingum. The two seniors in Gabrovsek and Direnzo placed 18th and 40th, respectively, in 27:18.3 and 30:02.5. Caudle finished 55th in 36:11.8.
Wooster has its final tune-up before the NCAC Championships on Friday, Oct. 17, when it races in the JennaStrong Fall Classic, hosted by Wilmington College.
