OBERLIN – The College of Wooster men's tennis team concluded its season on Saturday after a 7-0 loss at Oberlin College.
Wooster lost in straight sets throughout the match but did claim a win at No. 2 doubles.
The No. 3 team of Bennett Dickerson and Walker Wood had one of the better battles of the day, ultimately falling 7-5. Elsewhere, the No. 1 team of Namit Misra and Arnav Yadav fell 6-2, but the No. 2 team of Anthony VanOyen and Ian Royse won 6-3.
Singles play was a challenge as well for the Scots.
In the No. 1 flight, Vanoyen lost 6-2, 6-3. Yadav at No. 2 and Wood at No. 6 each lost 6-2, 6-2.
Royse took a 6-0, 6-2 defeat at No. 3, while Dickerson fell 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4. Finally, Misra fell 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 5 flight.
Oberlin moves to 7-13 overall and 3-4 in the NCAC. They captured the fifth seed in the upcoming NCAC Tournament.
Wooster wraps up the season losing five straight, with a 7-10 record and 1-6 posting in conference play for seventh in the standings.
