The College of Wooster men's and women's indoor track and field teams took fourth out of the collegiate varsity teams at Muskingum University's Muskie Meet #3 on Saturday.

Seven varsity teams competed on the men's side and eight on the women's. Wooster's women tallied 59 points for their fourth-place finish while the men finished with 77 points.

Wooster had two event champions in sophomore
Emeili Tarpy and junior
Nate Chartrand. Tarpy had a career-best time of 27.98 to beat all the 200 meters competition while Chartrand went 1:10.94 to win the 500 meters.

The Fighting Scots had an additional number of podium finishes as well. First-year
Eliana Cozzie was the runner-up to Tarpy in the 200 meters at 28.53. Senior
Sophia Mellis took third in the 1,000 meters in a time of 3:11.44. First-year
Aubrey Duggan also went third in the 500 meters in 1:33.53. Two other podium finishes came in the field with senior
Evie Sanford and senior
Sarah Hiestand. Sanford was third in the shot put with a mark of 39 feet, 2 inches. Hiestand tied for third in the pole vault clearing 9 feet, 1.75 inches.

Reese Johnson and first-year
Tyler Frye made it podium sweep in the 500 meters, as Johnson went 1:11.50 and Frye went 1:12.30 for second and third, respectively. Johnson added an additional third-place finish in the 1,000 meters in 2:51.45. Senior
Jake George and senior
Henry Schneiderman helped Wooster's impressive showing in the 500 meters with fourth- (1:12.56) and seventh-place finishes (1:16.43).

Both men's relays also finished in third place, starting with the 4x200 team of Chartrand, sophomore
Franklin Adu-Baah, sophomore
Dasebre Ofosu-Manu, and junior
Cooper Norwell. They combined for a Wooster season-best time of 1:34.90. George, first-year
Max Kollhoff, Schneiderman, and first-year
Jalen Mitman went 3:43.82 for their third place in the 4x400 relay.

The women's 4x400 relay team of Mellis, senior
Amy Gabrovsek, Duggan, and junior
Ellie Fox finished fourth in a Wooster season-best of 4:31.72.

Sophomore
Gracyn Zerby had an indoor career-best performance with 8 feet, 2 inches to tie for sixth in the pole vault. Junior
Claire Davis finished fifth in the 200 meters in 29.32, junior
Reeve Helvoigt went seventh in 5:53.80 in the mile, and Tarpy added to her performance with eighth place in the 60-meter dash in 8.47.

Out in the field, Fox placed seventh in the long jump with a mark of 14 feet, 8.75 inches. Senior
Anaya Brady finished eighth in the high jump with a clearance of 4 feet, 7 inches.

The men had two personal-best performances from sophomore
Basil Keck and junior
Avidor Wolkenberg. Keck went a career-best 9:50.17 for sixth in the 3,000 meters while Wolkenberg cleared 10 feet even for seventh in the pole vault.

Senior
Zane DeMercurio just missed the podium with fourth place in 9:29.42 in the 3,000 meters and also went 2:52.36 in the 1,000 meters for fifth place. Sophomore
Andrew Rombach was part of the strong Wooster contingent in the 3,000 meters with 9:50.86 for eighth place.

Kollhoff went 2:03.70 in the 800 for fifth place and Frye went 2:54.81 in the 1,000 meters. Junior
Cam Sentieri and senior
Jack Schuller had eighth-place finishes in the 400 meters (56.07) and the mile (5:23.90), respectively.

For the Scot men, senior
Rob Mays III led the field event contingent with seventh place in the weight throw with a mark of 47 feet, 8 inches.

Wooster returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 7, for the Bob Shannon Invitational, hosted by Denison University inside the Mitchell Fieldhouse.
