The College of Wooster men's soccer team and Wittenberg University played to a 1-1 draw Tuesday at Carl Dale Field.
Â
Wooster's first North Coast Athletic Conference win eluded the Scots despite going up early in the 12th minute and holding that lead for a good chunk of the game.
Â
The Scots made its first goal look easy playing deep into Wittenberg territory. JuniorÂ
Connor Shea found seniorÂ
Robert Hillhouse on a forward pass who then proceeded to score his team-leading seventh goal on the season.
Â
Wooster (6-5-2, 0-2-2 NCAC) did not face any real threat from the Tigers in the first half. The Scots outshot them 11-3 and with keeperÂ
Eddie Glucksman did not even need to record a save.
Â
However, Wittenberg (4-4-5, 1-2-1 NCAC) was able to find the equalizer in the 68th minute as a ball got well into Wooster's defensive zone forÂ
Asher Donahue to have an open look near the left post.
Â
The second again showed a dominant effort from the Scots, outshooting Wittenberg 16-8. However, only five of those shots were on goal.
Â
Wooster's best effort may have been from Shea who had a great look go wide right in the 78th minute.
Â
Wooster outshot the Tigers 27-11 for the game and could not make anything happen on eight corner kick tries. Glucksman finished with three saves.
Â
Next, Wooster heads to Wabash College (10-4-1, 1-2 NCAC) for a Saturday contest.
