GAMBIER -- The College of Wooster men's and women's track and field teams competed in the Kenyon Tune Up on Friday in advance of this weekend's North Coast Athletic Conference Heptathlon and Pentathlon events.

In the field events, seniorÂ
Evie Sanford topped the shot put with a throw of 38 feet, seven inches, which she achieved on her first throw. She also had the second-best weight throw at 46 feet, 4.25 inches.

In addition, sophomoreÂ
Ashtyn Merlo had her best throws of the season in the shot put (32 feet, 6.25 inches) and the weight throw (38 feet, six inches) to place third and fourth, respectively.

Sarah Hiestand had the best pole vault of the night at 8 feet, 11.75 inches, while sophomoreÂ
Emeili Tarpy topped the long jump field with a season-best length of 15 feet, 4.25 inches.

For the men,Â
Rob Mays III's first throw topped the competition in the shot put at 44 feet, 8.25 inches, and his throw in the weight throw was good enough for second at 41 feet, 8 inches.

William Harris IIÂ was third in the long jump with a season-best 19 feet, 10.25 inches. Meanwhile, juniorÂ
Zephan Deal edged out teammateÂ
Essaie Mezmur by less than an inch in the high jump with a height of five feet, 8.75 inches.

Avidor Wolkenberg reached nine feet, 10 inches in the pole vault.

In the running events, juniorÂ
Claire Davis ran unopposed in the 60 hurdles, finishing in 10.06 seconds. She later came in fourth in the 200 meters at 27.74 seconds. Both were season-best times for the junior.

Amy Gabrovsek won the 400 dash in 1:02.84, edging Tarpy who came in at 1:03.59.

Reeve Helvoigt finished .15 seconds behind first in the 1 mile, clocking in at 5:52.35. First- yearÂ
Eliana Cozzie had Wooster's best time in the 60 dash, placing fourth in 8.41 seconds. It was also a season-best for her.

For the men, plenty of personal bests as Harris II came back and won the 60 dash in a new PR of 7.13 seconds.

Robert Hillhouse put up a personal record in the 400 meters, coming in first at 52.7 seconds.First-yearÂ
Max Kollhoff also set a personal best, running a 2:01.25 to take the 800 meters

Zane DeMercurio came in at 4:38.47 for second in the men's mile. SophomoreÂ
Dasebre Ofosu-Manu won a crowded Wooster field in the 200 meters, finishing in 23.44 seconds, while classmate
Basil Keck finished sixth for Wooster's best time in the 3,000 run at 9:39.54.
