The College of Wooster Mens tennis team took care of the University of Mount Union, 7-0, in the team's first home match this season at Aspen Racquet Club on Sunday.
In doubles,
Andrew Wissman and
Walker Wood gave Wooster an early advantage with a 6-1 win in the No. 3 flight. The No. 2 team of
Bennett Dickerson and
Ian Royse sealed the doubles point with a 6-2 win, while the No. 1 team of
Anthony VanOyen and
Enzo Lopes captured a 6-3 win.
Singles play went just as well for the Scots, especially for VanOyen, who took a 6-0, 6-0 win in the No. 1 flight.
At the No. 2 flight, Royse had one of the more challenging matches but still left a 6-4, 6-3 winner.
Lopes won his No. 3 match, 6-2, 6-1, and Dickerson at No. 4 won 6-2, 6-4.
At No. 5, Wissman took a 6-2, 6-0 victory before Wood fought back in his No. 6 singles match, 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (6), to secure the sweep.
Wooster moves to 2-1 and will return to Aspen on Saturday to take on Franciscan University.
