After tying the game early in the fourth, The College of Wooster men's lacrosse team could not make a final push in its final non-conference game of the year in a 10-6 loss to Elmhurst University on Tuesday.

Jack Holub scored his game-high third goal with 13:15 left in the fourth making it a 6-6 game. However, Elmhurst scored four answered to conclude the game, all from four different scorers.
Elmhurst (7-2) retook the lead less than a minute later from Holub's third goal. The Bluejays then scored again at the 8:42 mark before scoring twice in a 39 second span that started at 6:43.
Kellogg, who had a game-high three assists, started on the game's first goal by finding
Baird Hruska five minutes in. Wooster (7-3) kept that lead for the remainder of the first.
Momentum shifted when Wooster was flagged for a 3-minute illegal equipment penalty to begin the second quarter. That led to two man-up goals for Elmhurst.
Wooster still came out of the quarter able to tie the Bluejays with goals from Holub and
Owen Thompson as the teams went into halftime tied 4-4.
The third quarter played even as well as the teams traded goals. Wooster got out of the gate with a goal from
John Allen Ginder and later with another goal from Holub.
Sophomore
Domenic Cuda put up a game-high six caused turnovers and a team-high five groundballs. Elmhurst's
Tony Vazquez tallied a game-high nine groundballs and went 17-of-18 in faceoffs.
Overall, Elmhurst won 18-of-19 faceoff opportunities and went 19-of-25 on clears. Wooster went 21-of-27 on clears and committed five less turnovers than the Bluejays.
Case Lowery took the loss in goal, making nine saves. His counterpart,
Andrew Lacksonen made 10 saves in the win.
Elmhurst is now 4-1 against North Coast Athletic Conference teams this season with wins over Denison University, Oberlin College and Kenyon College. Ohio Wesleyan University was the lone team to beat them.
Wooster will host DePauw University on Saturday looking for a 2-0 start in NCAC play.
