Riccitelli Named All-NCAC Second Team

Sophomore led conference in points per game

NCAC Release

Sophomore Mackenzie Riccitelli was named to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference Second Team, announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

Riccitelli, NCAC Newcomer of the Year and a third-team selection a year ago, guided The College of Wooster women's basketball team to its best record in a decade with 11 wins and just missing out on a spot in the NCAC Tournament.

Riccitelli showed her importance on both sides of the floor, leading the conference at 16.7 points per game and finishing second in steals at 3.0 per game. She scored in double figures in 23 of 25 games and had seven games where she scored north of 20 points.

Notable games included a career-high 31 points versus DePauw on Jan. 24. She also had one of her better all-around performances at Oberlin on Dec. 3 with 18 points, eight steals and seven rebounds.

The sophomore was 16th in the league in field goal percentage (.393) and assists (74). She also solidified herself in the program record book with season-totals of 418 points (seventh), 74 steals (fifth), 16.7 points per game (10th) and 45 3-pointers (sixth).

Ohio Wesleyan University took home two major awards in Player of the Year (Macy Miller) and Coaching Staff of the Year. Oberlin's Angela Kumler was named the Top Defensive Player and Denison's Molly Dorighi was named Newcomer of the Year.
