Kylie Parsons competed for The College of Wooster women's track and field team to start the North Coast Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, competing in the Heptathlon hosted by Denison University on Saturday.
Parsons competed against 11 student-athletes from Wittenberg, Denison, Ohio Wesleyan and Oberlin and finished in 10th with 2,234 points.
Wittenberg sophomore
Cayla Eaton won the event with 4,263 points.
Parsons's big highlight was coming on top in the shot put, throwing 29 feet, 9.25 inches to score 469 points. She edged Wittenberg first-year
Bethany Allen by almost four inches.
Parsons also had a solid performance in the javelin on Sunday, placing fifth with a throw of 65 feet, 2 inches. She also tied for sixth with three others in the high jump, finishing with a leap of 4 feet, 5.5 inches.
Elsewhere, Parsons finished 10th in the 200 meters (32.53) and 11th in the 100 meters (23.13).
On day two, Parsons started with a leap of 10 feet, 5.75 inches in the long jump for 10th. She concluded her first heptathlon, running a 2:50.94 in the 800 for eighth.
On Friday, the Scots will continue the championship meet at Kenyon College.
