Wooster Quartet on CSC Academic All-District® Team

Glover, Laubacher, Neuner, Sullivan honored

The College of Wooster's Callum Glover, Will Laubacher, Ethan Neuner, and Boston Sullivan earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® honors as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

Glover broke two school records and four Timken Natatorium records as a senior. He was part of Wooster's record 200 and 400 medley relays, which broke the school records at the midseason Wooster Invitational, then lowered them to 1:31.55 and 3:21.00, respectively, at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships. Glover's Timken Natatorium records include the 100 freestyle (46.85), 200 medley relay (1:33.03), 400 medley relay (3:23.65), and 400 freestyle relay (3:08.78). He also graduates with top-10 program times in the 50 freestyle (20.68, second), 100 freestyle (45.55, second), 200 freestyle (1:42.63, third), 100 butterfly (50.69, fifth), and 100 individual medley (53.57, fourth). At conference this season, Glover was part of Wooster's fourth-place 200 medley, 400 medley, and 400 freestyle relays (3:06.29) and fifth-place 200 freestyle relay (1:24.41). Individually, Glover placed 11th in the 50 freestyle (21.06), 12th in the 100 freestyle (46.39), and 20th in the 100 butterfly (51.27).

Earlier in his career, Glover was a key contributor on the Scots' first top-three NCAC finish since 2003. As a first-year, Glover was part of Wooster's fourth-place 800 freestyle relay (6:25.14), fifth-place 200 medley relay (1:34.35), fifth-place 200 freestyle relay (1:25.08), and sixth-place 400 freestyle relay (3:09.37). He went 46.51 to place 12th in the 100 freestyle. As a sophomore, he broke the 20-plus-year-old Timken Natatorium record in the 100 freestyle with a 46.98 in a dual meet with Ohio Wesleyan University.

The business economics major is a three-time CSC Academic All-District® selection. Glover explored the effects of youth participation in sport on longterm career earnings for Independent Study. He plans to work this summer as a camp counselor at Ohana Family Camp in Vermont before traveling throughout Southeast Asia. Upon returning to Texas, Glover will look for a career in the financial services industry. Glover spent last summer as a finance intern with Global Edge Consultants. There, he managed daily accounts payable invoices, created summaries of payments made across all departments to assist with budgeting, and assisted with state compliance. Glover previously worked as a head lifeguard for the City of Houston and Typhoon Texas. The Eagle Scout was a team representative for Wooster's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, participated in student sessions with candidates for several key administrative positions within the department, volunteeedrwith Edgewood Middle School, and volunteered with Friends of Wooster Memorial Park to rebuild handrails, bridges, and signposts.

Laubacher anchored Wooster's Timken Natatorium record-setting 400 freestyle relay. He is set to graduate with top-10 program times in the 200 freestyle (1:43.10, seventh), 500 freestyle (4:40.90, fifth), 1,000 freestyle (10:05.19, 10th), and 1,650 freestyle (16:43.76, ninth). At conference this season, Laubacher helped the Scots to fourth in the 400 freestyle relay, fifth in the 200 freestyle relay, and sixth in the 800 freestyle relay (6:57.15). Individually, Laubacher raced to the 13th-place time in the 1,650 freestyle (16:44.27), was 14th in the 200 freestyle (1:43.49) and 16th in the 500 freestyle (4:40.90).

The philosophy and psychology major is a two-time CSC Academic All-District® honoree. His Independent Study investigated if intellectual humility is related to better reasoning markers when under time constraints. Laubacher plans to pursue a professional career for a few years before applying for graduate school. He spent a summer as a laboratory intern at the University of Pittsburgh. There, Laubacher was a participant intake intern and liaison for neuroscience of aging research projects. He documented responses to memory and cognition assessments. Laubacher also spent time as a lifeguard for Richland Swim Club and a custodian with Pine Community Center. On campus, he is the vice president of the Sapere Aude Philosophy Journal.

Neuner was a key part of Wooster's fifth-place 200 freestyle relay at conference and posted scoring finishes in the 50 freestyle (22.02) and 100 freestyle (49.95). He was part of Wooster's Timken Natatorium record-setting 400 freestyle relay. Neuner is a first-time CSC Academic All-District® selection and is a self-designed environmental policy and advocacy major.

Sullivan is Wooster's most decorated swimmer on the men's side, evidenced by holding four school records. He was part of Wooster's record 200 and 400 medley relays, and individually sits at the top of the program board in the 100 (55.78) and 200 breaststrokes (2:03.71). He is the first Scot to hold the 100 and 200 breaststroke records at the same time since Evan Hagedorn in 2015. Sullivan broke both the 100- (58.11) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:08.90) records at Timken Natatorium this season and swam a leg on the record 200 and 400 medley relays. At conference, Sullivan helped the Scots to fourth in the 200 medley relay, fourth in the 400 freestyle relay, fourth in the 400 medley relay, and sixth in the 800 freestyle relay. He placed sixth in the 200 breaststroke and seventh in the 100 breaststroke, thanks to his record times, and went 1:54.39 for 14th in the 200 individual medley. Sullivan's 1:53.43 from his sophomore year in the 200 individual medley is the second-fastest time in program history, while his lifetime best of 53.81 in the 100 individual medley is fifth.

As a first-year, Sullivan was a key contributor on Wooster's third-place NCAC finish, a first for the Scots since 2003. He swam on Wooster's fifth-place 400 medley relay and won the consolation final of the 100 individual medley with a 53.81, which at the time was the third-fastest time in program history. He also posted top-10 program times in the consolation finals of the 100 breaststroke (58.12) and 200 individual medley (1:58.12).

The statistical and data sciences major is a two-time CSC Academic All-District® selection. He examined housing affordability trends in Ohio over time using economic and demographic data for Independent Study. Sullivan plans to pursue a full-time role in data analytics with a focus in financial analysis upon graduation. Heading into his junior year, Sullivan completed a data analyst internship with Goodyear through the College's AMRE program. He collaborated with clients to visualize and interpret tire wear rates with a goal of better production development and performance monitoring. Sullivan created an automated data pathway to streamline updating data into current visualizations and projections to improve business performance monitoring. Following his sophomore year, Sullivan was a private wealth management intern for Beese-Fulmer. He conducted in-depth financial analysis, including market research and risk assessments on stocks that followed a mix of growth and value performance. Sullivan gained proficiencies in reading financial statements and discounted cash flow analysis to evaluate the financial health and valuation of companies. He presented stock recommendations to advisors and company analysts providing detailed company metrics, financial performance analysis, and growth potential to support or reject investment decisions.

On campus, Sullivan is a three-year resident assistant and a four-year trustee with the Jenny Investment Club, which professionally manages a small portfolio of the College's endowment. He is the treasurer and budget committee chair of Wooster's student government. In this role, he oversees and executes the allocation of over $400,000 to student organizations on campus with allocation requests totaling over $1 million. He meets with student groups to review budgets and provide clarification and insight into discrepancies within their allocations.

Each school with a CSC membership may submit up to four Academic All-District® honorees for men's swimming and diving. Each nominee must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, be at least a sophomore in academic standing, and either compete in 75 percent of competitions, finish in the top-eight in an individual event at a conference meet or compete at the national championship.
