College of Wooster senior Evie Sanford's standout career wrapped up at Thursday's University of Mount Union Last Chance Meet.

Sanford went 40 feet, 3.25 inches in the shot put, placing sixth in Thursday's field. She needed to go around 44 feet, 5 inches to secure a spot at next week's NCAA Div. III Championships.

Sanford's season-best in the shot put of 42 feet, 6.75 inches came at last week's Baldwin Wallace University Harrison Dillard Twilight Meet. Earlier this spring, Sanford collected a sixth All-North Coast Athletic Conference honor as the runner-up in the shot put at the conference championships.
