Senior Andrew Carey won the runner-up playoff and The College of Wooster men's golf team posted its second top-three finish of the fall season at the Jimmy Hanlin Invitational, which took place Sunday and Monday at the par-70, 6,623-yard Little Mountain Country Club. Wooster shot a 607 for the 36-hole event.

Carey finished strong with a 2-over-par 72 to check in with a 5-over-par 145. He sank an early birdie on the par-3, 155-yard second hole on Monday and made par on 14 of the remaining 16 holes of his round. Carey's round one saw him start with a birdie on No. 2, which was his first hole of the shotgun-started round. He finished with two birdies on his final three holes, with those coming on the par-5, 552-yard No. 17 and the par-5, 582-yard No. 1. For the tournament, Carey went 1-under-par on the par-3 holes. The top-five finish marked the seventh of Carey's career.

Junior Rafa Tanjung followed up his season-opening medalist honor with the 13th-place score of 151. Tanjung birdied five holes on Monday en route to a 4-over-par 74. Three of Tanjung's birdies came in a four-hole stretch, with the first dropping on the par-4, 387-yard 16th hole. Tanjung fired an opening-round 77, which saw him shoot a 2-over-par 37 on the front nine.

Sophomore Arnav Choudhary tied for 21st after shooting at 155. Choudhary was a key contributor to Wooster's opening-round 303 with a 3-over-par 73. He played the final 14 holes of round one at even-par and shot a 35 on Little Mountain's back nine. Choudhary's back-nine birdie came on the 373-yard 15th hole.

Sophomore Musa Shariff bounced back from an opening-day 81 with a day-two 76 to aid the Scots' closing 304. Shariff played 13 holes at par or better in round two. He carded three birdies in round one, including back-to-back ones on Nos. 15 and 16.

Sophomore Ryan Yoder rounded out the lineup and shot a 163 for the tournament to place 23rd. Yoder opened with an 80, which saw him shoot a 2-over-par 37 on the back nine on Sunday.

Host Ohio Northern University won the event with a 591, one stroke better than runner-up Ohio Wesleyan University. John Carroll University's Kamden Mowry was the medalist with a 4-under-par 136.

Elsewhere, Wooster's b team played at the University of Mount Union Fall Invitational over the weekend. First-year Florian Egger placed third with a 1-under-par 71.

Next, Wooster competes at Allegheny College's Guy and Jeanne Kuhn Invitational, which takes place September 20-21 at the Country Club of Meadville.
