Senior Jordan Laraway came a kill shy of matching a career-high set earlier this week, and two College of Wooster volleyball players capped the week with 20-dig efforts, and that resulted in the Fighting Scots turning away host Saint Vincent College 22-25, 25-14, 25-14, 28-26 on Saturday evening.

Both of Wooster's (3-2) wins at the Bearcat Challenge came with the Scots dropping set one and then winning the next three. Laraway totaled five of her 17 kills in the fourth set, including one which tied the frame at 22. Wooster's first lead of the fourth came at 16-15 and was the second-to-last point of the Scots' 6-0 stretch. Sophomore Kennedy Muhlenkamp's kill started the run, which saw kills from four different Scots, plus an ace served up by first-year Lillian Beasley.

In the third frame, Wooster capitalized with Laraway at the service line. Her kill before rotating back to serve started an early 5-0 run, and she later carded an ace during the Scots' 6-0 stretch to make it 19-10. Junior Catherine Muzilla logged eight digs in the third set and sophomore Tamarra Talbert kept St. Vincent at bay at the net with three solo blocks.

Consecutive kills from sophomore Caitlin Walsh-Knouff capped a strong second set for Wooster, which hit .342 in the frame. Laraway and Walsh-Knouff combined for eight of the Scots' 15 kills in the match-tying set. Wooster broke the set wide open with a 6-0 run that started on Talbert's kill at 15-12.

Laraway's 17 kills were one shy of a career-high 18, which was logged in Tuesday's season-opening win over Allegheny. She added 20 digs in the win over the Bearcats. Muzilla led all players with 21 digs and Walsh-Knouff added 11 kills in support of Laraway. Wooster tallied nine blocks, with four on Talbert's line and three on senior Kora Burill's.

Meegan Williams paced St. Vincent with 20 digs and 15 kills. Aubrey Siwula added 19 dig and 10 kills.

Wooster's Saturday started with a 25-13, 25-19, 25-21 loss to 2025 20-match winner Westminster College. The Titans scored the final four points of the third set to secure the sweep.

First-year Claire Buchholz continued to shine, leading Wooster with 10 kills, one behind Westminster's Dakota Hershberger for match-high honors. Buchholz's 10th of the afternoon tied set three at 21, and her ninth made it 20 all.

Wooster tied set three at 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21 before Westminster's 4-0 run. Wooster strung together a 3-0 stretch to get to 16 all, with the points coming from a Talbert kill, a Westminster attack error, and a Natalie Hohman service ace.

Hohman's service game had Wooster within 21-19 in the second frame, as the senior served up a pair of aces during the Scots' 6-0 run. Talbert put away a kill to start the stretch and closed the gap to 21-18 with another kill.

Buchholz logged a second straight double-double with 11 digs, three shy of junior libero Catherine Muzilla's 14, which earned team-high honors. Burill chipped in six kills and led the team with two blocks.

Kylie Anthony and Olivia Trent backed Hershberger up with eight kills each. The Titans hit .255 as a team.

Wooster is next in action at Capital University (0-4) on Wednesday, September 9. First serve from Bexley, Ohio is at 7 p.m.
