Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Case Betters Scots In Ohio Matchup

Men's soccer falls 3-0

An early in-state test Sunday went the way of Case Western Reserve University as The College of Wooster men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 contest at Carl Dale Field.

The two teams played to a 1-1 tie a year ago and both teams were coming off victories over Juniata College this weekend.

Case Western Reserve (3-0) ended up being too much to handle, dictating the game from the start. They outshot Wooster 17-8, including a 10-2 first half.

For Case's first score, Wooster let Alex Eby get way too close to the left post, allowing the sophomore to angle the first goal in at the 18th minute.

The Spartans went up 2-0 in the 26th minute when Micah Rossen intercepted the ball as Wooster was attempting to control it on their half of the field. Rossen then found Ohta Kamiya on the short cross, who proceeded to lace it in.

Case Western Reserve added to their total late in the 79th minute when Philip Vlastaris headed the ball toward Rossen for his second goal of the year.

Wooster (2-1) had just one shot on goal, which came off the foot of Taylor Uszacki in the 84th minute. Rohan Kickbush and Marcel Huguet also gave Wooster great looks late, but both were off target.

Eddie Glucksman stayed busy and made five saves, while his counterpart, Carter Shedd, did not record a save in his 83 minutes in goal, securing the victory.

Wooster still leads the all-time series 19-12-5.

Next, the men get their first taste of action on the road with a trip to Washington & Jefferson College on Wednesday.
