Hopes to replicate last year’s breakout season as an everyday starter at either left field or DH while hitting in the middle of the order, likely No. 6 this spring … A captain and “real leader on the team,” according to the coaching staff … 2012: Collected third-team all-region honors from D3baseball.com and first-team all-North Coast Athletic Conference status … Was the Scots’ leader in batting average for much of the year before being taken over late, finishing at .364 with nine doubles, six home runs, and 31 RBI … Also drew 20 walks as part of a .449 on-base percentage to lead the team in those categories … Tied for fourth in the conference in homers, tied for seventh in walks, eighth in slugging percentage (.566), tied for eighth in runs scored (36), ninth in on-base percentage, and tied for 10th in hits (52) … After the spring break trip, reached base successfully 29 consecutive games (March 27-May 5) and recorded 11 multi-hit games during that stretch which saw his average rise from .306 to as high as .407 … Went 3-for-5 with an RBI vs. Adrian (May 16) in NCAA Div.
