2015: Had a breakout season as the primary starter in left field, finishing as the team’s third-leading hitter at .371 – the 10th-best batting average in the league … Stroked 14 doubles and drove in 31 runs while scoring 30 times himself … Went 4-for-15 with two doubles, an RBI, and three hit by pitches at NCAC Tournament (May 7-8) … Had four three-hit games, including a 3-for-4, two-double, four-RBI outing against Wabash (May 3) and a perfect 3-for-3, three-RBI, two-walk performance at John Carroll (April 21) … Made three starts on the mound, highlighted by no-hitting nationally-ranked Heidelberg (April 22) for 5 1/3 innings … Stuck out a career-high seven in that game.
2014: Pitched eight times, including a start at Muskingum (April 21) … Totaled 14 innings of work, with a season-high 3 2/3 innings of one-hit scoreless ball coming against Kenyon (April 1) … Earned the win vs. Wis.-Platteville (March 17) after two innings of scoreless relief.
Prior to Wooster: The Daily Record and Principals Athletic Conference Player of the Year as a senior at Triway High School, when he went 10-2 with a 1.01 ERA and 101 strikeouts in 69 1/3 innings while also batting .346 with eight doubles and 28 RBI … Compiled a 19-6 career pitching record with a 1.60 ERA and 208 strikeouts over 157 2/3 innings … Set Triway records for strikeouts in a game (16), season (101), and career, and also for shutouts in a season (4) … Also was a first-team all-league and second-team all-county standout in soccer for the Titans.
