Cate Barkdoll, a 2026 alumna of The College of Wooster, joined the field hockey program as a part-time assistant coach prior to the 2026 season.

The four-year starter twice earned All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors as a goalkeeper, including a first-team certificate as a sophomore. That year, Barkdoll led Wooster to a top-five national ranking in shutouts per game, while individually, the ‘keeper posted the 11th-best goals-against average in the nation.

Barkdoll ranked seventh in program history with nine career shutouts upon graduation. In softball, Barkdoll was first-team All-NCAC as a junior after leading the nation and setting a program record with 23 base runners caught stealing. The catcher finished as the program’s all-time leader with 107 RBI, second in doubles with 38, and third in total bases at 225.

Barkdoll graduated with a degree in environmental geoscience.
