Mel Burke Jr.

Mel Burke Jr. is in his fourth year as an assistant with The College of Wooster men’s basketball program. While on staff, Wooster has won one North Coast Athletic Conference title, swept the 2023-24 NCAC Player and Most Outstanding Defensive Player awards, and the team ended 2023-24 No. 2 nationally in field-goal percentage.
 
Burke Jr. joined the college ranks following five years with Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School’s program. There, he was part of two district titles.
 
Burke Jr. graduated from Cleveland State University in 2018 with a degree in business administration. Professionally, he is a fraud analyst in the information technology and healthcare industry.
 
Of note, his father is a legendary high school girls basketball coach in the Cleveland area.
