Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Hiram Turns Home-Field Advantage Into 6-0 Win

College of Wooster goalkeeper Taylor Takacs notched a double-digit save total for the second time this year, but a series of Hiram College shots also got through the Fighting Scots' defense as the Terriers secured a 6-0 North Coast Athletic Conference decision Wednesday night in Hiram, Ohio.

Playing on Hiram's fast artificial surface, as opposed to natural grass, Wooster (5-9-1, 1-7-0 NCAC) may have had trouble with the adjustment. Hiram (9-5-1, 4-4-0 NCAC) fired off 14 shots in the first half when it scored during the 13th and 33rd minutes.

The Terriers had less opportunities during the second half, but were more accurate with them, adding goals in the 56th, 60th, 69th, and 87th minutes.

Takacs finished with 10 saves, the eighth time in the senior's career he has reached double figures.

The Scots will conclude their 2011 season on Saturday night at rival Wittenberg University (6-10-1, 2-6-0 NCAC).
