Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Scots Stay in Postseason Race with 2-1 Win at Oberlin

OBERLIN – The College of Wooster men's soccer team kept North Coast Athletic Conference tournament hopes alive with a 2-1 win against Oberlin College on Saturday.

The Scots trailed 1-0 at halftime when Oberlin struck first in the 40th minute behind a goal from Thomas Kanter. However, Wooster came out of the half fast with the equalizer in the 52nd minute.

After the Oberlin goalkeeper mishandled a ball, senior Max Hill took control and found junior Moody Saadi in front of the net who scored his third goal of the year.

Then in the 72nd minute, senior Dani Halbing hit the game winner on a header straight off a throw in from classmate Caleb King.

From there, the Scots survived the Oberlin attack who ended the game outshooting the Scots 15-4. Senior keeper Hamilton Schattgen made three saves in the win.

The win pulls the Scots (9-6-1) even with the Yeomen (5-8-3) in the conference at 3-3-1 and 10 points for a three-way tie for fifth place along with Wabash College.

Wooster will look to secure three more points when they travel to Allegheny College (4-11, 0-7) on Wednesday.
