Box Score The College of Wooster women's basketball team had a great experience on Friday, traveling to Bowling Green State University for an exhibition game against the Division I opponent.

Seventeen players saw playing time for the Scots, including seven newcomers. First-year Pink Sturdivant got the start, along with veterans Ella Biondi, Ella Dean, Mackenzie Riccitelli and Ace Sturdivant.

Riccitelli, the NCAC Newcomer of the Year,  was a clear focus for the Bowling Green defense and finished with just four points, all coming at the foul line.

Ace Sturdivant was Wooster's leading scorer at 11 points. The junior found points at the charity stripe (4-4), driving the lane and connecting on a corner 3-pointer.

Once Wooster got their legs underneath them, Wooster produced its best highlight of the game with a 7-0 run.

Ace Sturdivant started the run, drawing a foul and hitting pair of free throws. Pink Sturdivant connected on a layup, and first-year Graysen Redpath connected on her first shot, which was a 3-pointer from the wing.

Later, another first-year in Ayden Rodgers saw her first action in the second half and upon entering hit a 3-pointer.

Classmate Savannah Weiss one-upped everybody in the fourth, connecting on a four-point play by hitting a 3-pointer from atop the key and hitting the ensuing free throw.

Mya Rivera connected on a 3-pointer of her own to push Wooster past 30 points. Weiss hit another 3-pointer to close out scoring for the Scots, which put her behind Sturdivant with seven points.

Biondi finished with a team-high four rebounds, while Dean had a team-high three assists.

The host Falcons, member of the Mid-American Conference, is getting rather familiar with the North Coast Athletic Conference. Last year they hosted Wittenberg University in an exhibition in way to an 18-13 record.

Taya Ellis led all scorers with 19 points. Paige Kohler, named Preseason All-MAC First Team, finished with 13 points.

Wooster will officially open the season Nov. 8 with a trip to La Roche University.
