Miller selected for Academic All-America® ballot

The College of Wooster's Evan Amend, Ioannis Aristodemou, Jacob Fried, Peter Kalitka, Elliot Miller, and Evan Peratopoulos were among the men's soccer College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® honorees announced by the national organization on Tuesday afternoon.

Amend played in all 19 contests and made eight starts out of the Fighting Scots' midfield. The dynamic playmaker scored three goals and ended the year with seven points for top-five team rankings in both stats. Amend had two early goals, scoring against Bethany College (W. Va.) and Heidelberg University. Amend's third goal of the year came in a 3-2 homecoming victory over the University of Mount Union.

Amend is a political science and Spanish major who is exploring the role music has as political communication during and after a Chilean dictatorship for Independent Study. Amend studied abroad in Spain as a junior and performs multiple songs in end-of-semester piano concerts. He volunteers with People to People Ministries in Wooster. Amend is a multi-time qualifier for the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

Aristodemou  played in all 19 games and made 16 starts for the Scots this fall. The defender helped the Scots to six clean sheets. The junior scored in an early-season win against Trine University and passed out assists in North Coast Athletic Conference play against Oberlin College and Ohio Wesleyan University.

The two-time CSC Academic All-District® honoree is an economics major and a multi-time qualifier for the Athletic Director's Honor Roll. Aristodemou spent this summer as an audit team intern at Baker Tilly in his native Cyprus. The junior previously interned at Globethics in Switzerland. There, Aristodemou worked to equip individual and institutions for ethical thinking and decision making. Lats summer, Aristodemou was a strategy consulting intern in Athens, Greece. In Wooster, he is a graduate of the College's Student Leadership Institute and volunteers with People to People Ministries clothing department.

Fried helped anchor Wooster's defense with 16 starts this fall. The senior was one of 11 players to log over 1,000 minutes for the season, which saw the program post its winningest year since 2004 at 11-2-6. Fried's defense helped the team to a 11-0-5 start and the program ranked just outside the United Soccer Coaches' top-25 for the final two weeks of the regular season.

The economics major earns CSC Academic All-District® honors for the second time. The multi-time Athletic Director's Honor Roll qualifier is investigating artificial intelligence's effects on income and productivity inequality through a predictive analysis for Independent Study. Fried studied abroad in Amsterdam and is a multi-year business solutions data intern. Fried regularly is involved with People to People Ministries for community service.

Kalitka earned third-team All-NCAC honors this fall. He played in 18 contests, 17 of which were starts. The junior played the third-most minutes of field players and was part of a defense that allowed just a single goal per contest.

The neurobiology major is a multi-time member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll. Kalitka is part of the College's large-scale partnership with Wooster Community Hospital where Wooster students serve as health coaches in the greater community. They support patients with wellness visits and provide health monitoring to improve wellness outcomes. Kalita was a sophomore research assistant at Wooster conducting chemogenetics research to study memory and learning. Kalitka performed stereotaxic surgery procedures and handled mice for behavioral experiences. Kalitka spends summers as a dental sterilizing technician in our nation's capital.

Miller's selection as the NCAC's Offensive Player of the Year marked a first for the program since 2005 and the ninth time a Scot has earned the league's highest offensive honor. The program's sixth four-time All-NCAC honoree led the team with 22 points on eight goals and six assists. At the end of the regular season, he was tied for third in goals and had the third-most points within the NCAC. Three of Miller's goals came in conference play, the first of which helped the Scots draw with then-third-ranked Denison University. Miller broke a scoreless tie with a goal in the 80th minute against John Carroll University then scored with 2:52 remaining to lift Wooster to a key 2-1 NCAC victory at Oberlin College on the second-to-last week of the regular season.

Miller collects CSC Academic All-District® honors for the first time and is a multi-time member of Wooster's Athletic Director's Honor Roll. The environmental geoscience major studied abroad in Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. He spent this past summer as a summer laboratory intern with the College's earth sciences department and is a three-year student assistant athletic trainer. Miller is actively involved with the College's Geology Club and is analyzing palagonite from Iceland's western zone and the implications for Martian glaciovolcanism for Independent Study.

Peratopoulos played in 19 games with eight starts this fall. The sophomore was part of the group that logged over 1,000 minutes on the pitch in 2025. He started four of Wooster's shutouts on the year and attempted 10 shots.

Peratopoulos is a computer science major and member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll. He volunteers for a hometown Greek festival and soccer youth camps. The entrepreneur works as a summer student painter and previously was self-employed in the lawncare industry.

Each school with the CSC membership may nominate up to six men's soccer players for Academic All-District® honors. Qualifications include maintaining a minimum of a 3.5 GPA, being at least a sophomore in academic standing, and either playing in 90 percent of the team's contests or starting in 66 percent of them. Miller was selected to advance to the Academic All-America® ballot. Should he be voted an Academic All-American®, that will be announced on Tuesday, Dec. 16.
