Â
Perhaps the most impressive performance of the afternoon came from first-year
Hayden Price. The newcomer collected a trio of individual event wins, starting with the 200 butterfly (2:02.10), then backed it up with victories in the 200 backstroke (1:58.22) and the 200 individual medley (2:03.12). Additionally, Price led off the winning 200 medley relay team alongside senior
Boston Sullivan, senior
Will Laymon, and senior
Callum Glover who combined for a time of 1:36.78.
Â
Sullivan had a standout day as one of the Fighting Scots' other multi-event winners. The senior turned in an early-season collegiate-best of 1:49.47 to win the 200 freestyle and also added the 200 breaststroke in 2:16.89. Glover was the other multi-event winner, collecting the 50 freestyle in 22.42 and the 100 butterfly in 53.75.
Â
Wooster's women were led by senior
Emma Humbert and first-year
Reese Lucas, as each notched two event victories. The veteran touched first in the 1,000 freestyle in a time of 11:19.25 and then out-touched the competition in the 200 individual medley in 2:19.92. Lucas raced out to the 200 freestyle win in 2:07.48 along with the 200 backstroke in 2:23.19. Like her first-year teammate on the men's side, Lucas also led off the Scots' winning 200 medley relay (1:57.85), with sophomore
Maggie Layne, sophomore
Elizabeth Theobald, and senior
Keara Wiley comprising the rest of the winning group.
Â
Layne and Theobald also translated their relay success to their individual events. Layne won the 100 breaststroke in 1:12.97. Theobald took the 100 butterfly in 1:03.08.
Â
Wooster made it a clean sweep in the freestyle distance events, thanks to senior
Will Laubacher, junior
Philipp Drappatz, and junior
Rachel Frank. Laubacher swam his way to 10:37.52 in the 1,000 freestyle, Drappatz went 5:04.70 in the 500 freestyle, and Frank turned in a time of 5:34.26 in the 500 free as well.
Â
Rounding out Wooster's individual event winners were first-year
