Shutout Win Caps Successful Weekend for Scots

Men's soccer 2-0 for first time since 2011

For the first time since 2011, The College of Wooster men's soccer team has opened the season at 2-0 following its 2-0 win over Trine University on Sunday.

Lessons were learned following the team's season opening win over Waynesburg. On Friday, Wooster went up 3-0 but allowed Waynesburg to compete with two goals in the second half.

On Sunday, once Wooster took the lead early in the second half, they never let Trine get back into the game.

When Wooster struck in the 49th minute, it was off the foot of Ioannis Aristodemou. The junior laced a shot into the corner of the goal off a pass Elliot Miller.

Later, the senior Miller gave Wooster some insurance, capitalizing on a penalty kick opportunity in the 78th minute.

Wooster kept Trine (0-2) in check most of the game, outshooting the Thunder 22-2. Sophomore Eddie Glucksman recorded a save in the shutout win.

The team will stick around Wooster for their next contest when they host Bluffton University on Wednesday. The College will be celebrating AD Honor Roll athletes at halftime, split between the women's game on Wednesday and the men's soccer game on Thursday.

Wooster stays at Carl Dale Field for its next match, squaring off against Westminster College on Thursday. The College will be celebrating AD Honor Roll athletes at halftime, split between the women's soccer game on Wednesday and the men's game on Thursday.
