Another 3-0 Result For Women’s Soccer

Struck, Crompton, Keenan net goals for Scots

Even with a scoreless first half, The College of Wooster women's soccer team was able to achieve its third consecutive 3-0 win, this time against Bluffton University on Wednesday.

Potentially sparked by the halftime recognition of Wooster's AD Honor Roll recipients, Wooster scored all three of its second half goals off rebounds of saved shots or some sort of misdirection.

Senior Julia Struck connected first, scoring the same way she did last time out – off a rebounded shot. First-year Madeline Bruns sent a ball in that was initially saved, only for Struck to put it in in the 57th minute.

Ten minutes later, junior Bella Crompton made it a 2-0 game on her second goal of the season. She took advantage of a deflected ball, lasering a shot from just outside the top of the box.

Finally, after the initial scrum off a corner kick, sophomore Tessa Keenan did the same thing as Crompton, scoring off the deflection but just inside the top of the box. The goal, in the 83rd minute, was Keenan's first as a Fighting Scot.

Even with the scoreless first half, Wooster did not have much of a problem against the Beavers (1-2), outshooting them 31-2. Keeper Lucy Carlin made one save, but it was a good one, reaching for a ball in the corner of the goal.

Next, Wooster (3-0) will experience its first road match when they travel to Heidelberg University on Saturday.
