DELAWARE – The College of Wooster men's soccer team took a second straight defeat in North Coast Athletic Conference play on Saturday, falling to Ohio Wesleyan University, 1-0.
Just the second time shutout this season, Wooster (6-5-1) moved to 0-2-1 in conference play after another decision was determined by just one goal.
The Battling Bishops hit the game-winner in just the 13th minute, turning around a Wooster corner kick into a scoring opportunity. Making their way quickly downfield, the Battling Bishops got a shot off that was initially saved by Wooster keeper
Eddie Glucksman, but
Paddy O'Reilly was there to score off the rebound.
Wooster's offense continued to search for the equalizer, outshooting Ohio Wesleyan 16-11 in the game, but none of their eight shots on goal could get past Ohio Wesleyan keeper
Andrew Davison.
A red card with under a minute remaining gave Wooster one last chance to make something happen. Yet, the Scots could not work anything from its free kick chance from midfield.
Ohio Wesleyan (3-4-4) improves to 2-0 in the conference.
