Another 20 Goals Leads To Another Decisive Win

Wooster moves to 2-0 with 20-3 victory over Capital

The College of Wooster women's lacrosse team scored 20 goals for the second straight game as they dominated Capital University, 20-3, in their home opener on Saturday.

Wooster scored the game's first 14 goals, not allowing Capital to get on the board until the third period.

Senior Sophia Mellis led the way with five goals, while first-year Kylie MacMillan led with six points behind two goals and a game-high four assists.

Senior Brynne Snaguski and sophomores Cassidy Driscoll and Mizan Jacobs all recorded three goals for hat tricks.

Senior Lizzie Hardy added two goals and led the team in draw controls and ground balls.

Her 12 draw controls puts her at 300 for her career and four shy of tying the program's career record. Her four ground balls moved her to 156 for her career for seventh in program history.

Rounding out the goal scoring was one each from Edi Fisher and Priya Nehria. It was Fisher's first collegiate goal and Nehria's first of the season.

Ava Vendetti scored two of Capital's three goals.

Wooster outshot the Comets 39-8, caused 14 turnovers and scooped up 19 ground balls.

Junior Audrey Richardson collected the win in goal, making one save and not allowing a goal in the first half. Sophomore Taylor Noe played the second half and collected one save as well.

Wooster stays home for its next matchup when they host Baldwin Wallace University on Wednesday.
