| Box Score 2 The College of Wooster women's tennis team hosted the Wooster Invitational this weekend, joining Oberlin College, Otterbein University and Ursuline College in competition.
 
All teams got a full day of play in on Sunday after rain kept players off the courts for most of the day on Saturday.
 
Wooster opened doubles competition with three matches and three wins against Ursuline.
 
Sasha Riley and Lauren Richmond teamed, as did Elizabeth Meiners and Cameron Carlson to take 6-1 wins, while Kamila Kadirova and Saule Kupcinskaite won 6-2 against their Ursuline counterparts.
 
The teams mixed up in matchups against Oberlin. Meiners and Riley fell 6-4 to first-years Anastasia Cheng and Arina Kuzmina. Jade Adkins and Kadirova teamed in a 6-3 loss, and Richmond and Carlson fell 6-1.
 
Finally, Wooster played Otterbein to wrap doubles play. Meiners and Riley got their first win together, defeating Niya Belland Avi Gullion, 6-4.
 
Richmond and Adkins fell just short in a 7-6 (3) result, while newcomers Carlson and Kupcinskaite lost 6-0 to Julia Carpenco and Brooklyn Murlin.
 
Moving to singles play, Wooster had plenty of success again against Ursuline, winning seven matches and losing just eight games altogether.
 
Meiners and Kupcinskaite each claimed 6-0, 6-0 wins. Richmond took a 6-1, 6-0 win, and Kadirova won in a similar fashion, 6-0, 6-1.
 
Riley and Adkins each won by 6-2, 6-0 scores, while Carlson won 6-0, 6-2.
 
Finally, Wooster had a set of singles matches against Otterbein.
 
Meiners and Riley took wins. Meiners won after a retirement at 2-1, and Riley defeated Molly Jones, 6-1.
 
Richmond and Adkins were each on the wrong end of a third set tiebreaker with Richmond falling 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (5), and Adkins losing 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (8).
 
Kadirova took a 6-4 loss, Kupcinskaite fell 6-2, and Carlson lost 6-0.
 
Elsewhere, Meiners defeated Oberlin's Hannah Soong 6-0, and Kupcinskaite fell 6-2 to Otterbein's Carpenco.
 
Next, the Scots will travel to Oberlin to take part in their invitational Sept. 19-20.
