The College of Wooster men's soccer team suffered a 2-1 defeat to Adrian College during homecoming weekend on Saturday.
 
Wooster (4-3) looked strong from the opening whistle, culminating with the game's opening goal in the 23rd minute. Will Pope found the back of the net for the second time this season thanks to connecting passes from Robert Hillhouse and Connor Shea.
 
Adrian's (3-2) two scores came in challenging fashion. The first, the equalizer in the 37th minute, came following a scrum after a corner kick as Jack Pelton got a foot in to get the score.
 
Flash forward to early in the second half, Nikolai Zacharko scored on a tough angle in the 49th minute to make it 2-1.
 
The Scots kept on the attack but could not get anything through. They outshot Adrian 28-14, including 16-6 in the second half, and even had a couple of tries hit off the post or crossbar.
 
Adrian keeper Eli Sizemore fended off 10 potential goals, while Eddie Glucksman collected four saves.
 
Next, the Scots head to Grove City College on Thursday.
