Expected to again be one of the top pitchers in the region, and possibly all of NCAA Div. III … Continued to develop a change-up to complement his outstanding slider, and excels at locating his fastball … Terrific competitor with a durable arm, and voted a team tri-captain … 2010: Second-team all-region and first-team all-conference selection as the ace of the Scots’ staff … Factored in the decision all 11 starts and none in four relief appearances, as he went 8-3 with a league-low 2.64 ERA and 71 strikeouts in 71.2 innings … Also led the NCAC in victories and inning pitched … Suffered bad luck in his start at the NCAA Mideast Regional, as all three runs that came across in his six innings against Marietta (May 20) were all unearned … Started and went three scoreless innings in the game vs. Case Western Reserve (April 21), played at the Cleveland Indians’ Progressive Field … Tossed four complete games, including a 7-0 shutout at Oberlin (April 17) … 2009: Received first-team all-American accolades from D3baseball.com as well as second-team status on the ABCA All-America Team … Also collected the coaches’ Mideast Region Pitcher-of-the-Year award and first-team all-conference honors … Became the team’s ace, thanks in part to injuries to two other top pitchers, and responded by leading Div.
