Wooster Captures Cleveland Cup to Cap Successful Fall

Fighting Scots win second tournament of fall

The College of Wooster men's golf team ran its run of seasons with multiple tournament wins to four, as the Fighting Scots captured the 2025 Cleveland Cup in dominant fashion on Monday at the par-72, 6,748-yard Pine Hills Golf Club. Wooster's 304 was 12 strokes better than the Scots' B team, which posted a 316. Heidelberg University was the runner-up scoring lineup at 317.

Three from Wooster's lineup were in the field's top five, led by first-year Jack Kinder, who was one of the runner-ups with a 3-over-par 75. Kinder dropped to 1-under-par quickly, making the first of his two birdies on the par-4, 450-yard 14th hole, which was his second played on the day. He was back at even-par through 13 holes when a birdie dropped on the par-5, 511-yard seventh hole. Kinder played 14 holes at par or better, with seven each on Pine Hills' front and back nines.

Juniors Andrew Carey and Jake Cammarata tied for fifth-place with 76s. Carey's day started on No. 14, which he birdied, and a second circle on the card came on the 405-yard second hole. That moved Carey back to even-par for the day through seven holes. He played Pine Hills' back nine at 1-over-par and had 13 holes at par or better.

Cammarata started on No. 15 and had his strongest stretch upon turning to the front nine. There, he made a birdie on the par-4, 372-yard first hole and did not drop a stroke on the front until No. 8. Cammarata bounced back with a par on the par-4, 374-yard ninth hole to finish the front nine at even-par. He was 2-over-par for his final 14 holes of the day.

Senior Mark Towns was seventh for a second top-10 finish this fall. Towns signed for a 77 to round out the Scots' 304. The senior played the final eight holes of the round at even-par, with the birdie coming on No. 7. That, plus a birdie on No. 2, helped Towns post a 1-over-par 37 on the front. Towns shot even-par for the tournament on par-5 holes.

Sophomore Nunth Khamkhokgruad was 13th with an 80 to round out Wooster's lineup. Khamkhokgruad played the final six holes at 1-over-par, fueled by rolling in back-to-back birdies on the par-4, 374-yard ninth hole and the par-5, 510-yard 10th hole. Khamkhokgruad started the day with pars on six of his first seven holes.

First-year Arnav Choudhary led Wooster's B team, tying for second with a 3-over-par 75. Choudhary caught fire late, playing the final 11 holes of the day at 1-under-par. That stretch was capped with a birdie on No. 10, which was the first-year's closing hole. He was 2-under-par for his final five holes of the day.

Heidelberg's Garrett Wahl was the medalist with a 2-over-par 74.

The Cleveland Cup concluded Wooster's fall season. Wooster previously won Adrian College's Irish Hills Invitational in the middle of September and logged a pair of runner-up finishes.
